During the pandemic, access to Gili Trawangan has been limited but no worries the island is now open for tourists. You could visit Gili Trawangan both via Lombok or Bali directly and this article will help you to sum up some ways to get to this paradise.

You can directly reach Gili Trawangan from Bali using Fast Boat. The journey us about 2 – 3 hours and ticket is sold around IDR 430.000 – IDR 450.000. You could depart either from Padang Bai or Serangan Harbour and you would also require:

  1. Vaccines Certificate
  2. Swab Antigen Test with Negative Result

One of the popular popular provider is Eka Jaya Fast Boat Company. Eka Jaya departs every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from Padang Bai and you could either book the tickets online via their website or offline at their office on Jalan Silayukti – Parking Area. 


Fast Boat is the fastest way to reach Gili Trawangan. With an expensive tickets, it could save you a lot of time. If you have a tight budget then, you could try to use slow boat that will take you from Bali to Lembar Harbour Lombok. Then from Lembar, you could take land transportation that will take you to Bangsal Harbour and continue with public boat to Gili Trawangan. 

Ferry could take up to 5 hours but it would only cost you around IDR 50.000 – IDR 60.000. There are many Ferry Services that departs everyday from Padang Bai to Lembar and you could also get ticket offline as well. Before booking the ticket make sure to have:

Upon arriving at Lembar there some option that you could take to reach Bangsal Harbour which are:

  1. Renting a motorbike which cost around IDR 60.000 – IDR 75.000/day. If you would like to spent a bit more time in Lombok area, then this could be a viable and cheaper option. Motorbike would allow you to be flexible while get around Lombok.
  2. Booked a car which could cost around IDR 300.000 – 350.000 one way. As the road to Bangsal is quite windy, this option would be more comfortable for you. 

From Bangsal, you could take either public boat that will cost around IDR 30.000 or Fast Boat with price around IDR 85.000 – IDR 100.000 one way. The crossing time needed is about 30 minutes.


LFlights from Bali to Lombok is one of the shortest as it only needs around 45 minutes. The flight ticket is quite affordable as well in the rate IDR 250.000 – IDR 350.000 one way. Like another travel methods, you would also need:

  1. Vaccines Certificate
  2. Swab Antigen Test with Negative Result
Don’t forget to update your PeduliLindungi Application and e-Hac before flight. Upon arriving at Lombok Praya International airport, you could also choose either to rent a motorbike or book a car to reach Bangsal Harbour. Taxi usually would cost around IDR 250.000 then you could continue using public boat or fast boat from Bangsal.
